About Us

Jalin’s Hope, Inc. was founded by Jalin Howell-Foster in 2015.  Jalin was a 6th grader at Dutchman Creek Middle School in Rock Hill, SC who was invited to join an organization called the National Junior Beta Club which recognizes academic achievements, promotes character and social responsibility and encourages service involvement to the school and community.

Junior Beta Club Members were required to complete community service hours so Jalin chose to start his own food drive inspired by his mother Kelly Miller who wanted him to give back to a cause that mattered.  Jalin partnered with Pilgrims Inn where 100% of his donations were given.  Although Jalin only had to commit to 20 hours of community service he enjoyed given back and seeing to look on individuals faces, so in 2016 Jalin and Kelly decided to continue his food bank and turn a few months of community service into a nonprofit organization.

Jalin’s Hope was initially called Jalin’s Food Bank but the organizations name was changed in 2016 to fit the other programs that it would like to provide to the community.
